Salt Memory

Part of my Shoreline Findings series, this work began as an experiment with poured paint, gold pigment and sea salt. As the surface dried, the salt disrupted the paint, creating crackled textures reminiscent of weathered stone, mineral deposits and tidal formations.
Like many of the works in this series, it explores the beauty that emerges through natural processes rather than control. Suspended within soft washes of teal and ochre, the dark central form suggests something both hidden and revealed—a  reminder that time, chance and transformation leave their own marks upon the surface.
